Golden State Warriors trade targets: JJ Redick AND Lonzo Ball

Okay, we’re gonna cheat a little here and include two players on this slide. This is because, on their own, Lonzo Ball and JJ Redick aren’t worth a first round NBA Draft pick. But, when combined together in a package, the Golden State Warriors should be interested.

We have to keep in mind that once Klay Thompson returns, the Warriors will have to move either Andrew Wiggins or Kelly Oubre to the bench. Most likely, Oubre will be bumped to the second unit. In this case, would it not be an upgrade to flip Oubre and a pick for two quality bench pieces like Reddick and Ball? After all, Wiggins and Thompson do everything Oubre does – but better.

It only makes sense for the Warriors to address other weak areas in their lineup by filling the rotation with quality pieces. Redick is a lethal shooter who can be plugged into any lineup that needs a scoring boost.

As for Ball, he’s an all-around skilled guard who can defend, create plays and shoot the 3-pointer at a good rate. Yes, Lonzo Ball has become a good shooter despite his reputation. He’s shooting a higher percentage from deep than Devin Booker on more attempts. Ball is averaging 16.4 points, 5.1 rebounds and 4.8 assists on 45.8 percent shooting from deep in his last 12 games.

This move would bolster the Warriors bench and inject two high-IQ players to round out the rotation.
