Adding Aron Baynes

Aron Baynes is a potential trade target that I’ve been hoping the Warriors would go after for quite some time. It would’ve been great to see the team have targeted him this past offseason when he was a free agent.

Baynes is coming off the bench with Toronto after starting most of the season last year with the Suns. With Phoenix, he thrived, doubling his scoring average from the season before. Baynes averaged 11.5 points and 1.4 threes per game.

Those numbers have declined as he’s played less for the Raptors. The most intriguing part of Baynes’s game is his three-point shooting. He hit over 35 percent of his attempts with the Suns.

That’s gone down to just over 20 percent this season with Toronto, but it should be hopeful that the Phoenix Suns’ Baynes could come back out with the proper system. In Golden State, he’d have just that.

The Raptors are a team that should still have playoff ambitions. They could use the shooting that Lee would provide, and with Baynes not being a huge target, they should want just a few second-round picks to tag along with Lee.
