Golden State Warriors highlights: Stephen Curry proves everyone wrong

Okay, everyone might want to act like it never happened, but there was a solid chunk of people declaring Stephen Curry’s career over at the beginning of the season. They had been waiting for years to dance on his grave – and his early struggles made it easy for everyone to start talking.

The highlight came when Damian Lillard, a player who has been increasingly compared to Curry, opened up about how Steph is struggling because he no longer has the luxury of playing with his star teammates.

And wow, did Steph respond. With only Draymond by his side, Curry blew up for a career-high 62 points over Lillard and the Portland Trail Blazers. He scorched them from start to finish and hasn’t looked back, averaging 30.6 points in the 28 games since.

Lillard was right about one thing, however. Curry isn’t getting the looks he used to. In fact, he’s taking some of the most difficult shots of anyone in the league according to this graph. Yet, he stands alone as the best shot-maker in the game, tiers above Lillard.

Curry has proven everyone wrong. Put him on any team, in any system, with any defensive scheme set to stop him – Curry is always going to be Curry.
