Golden State Warriors NBA Draft: Ziaire Williams

If there’s one thing the 2021 NBA Draft is full of, it’s athletic wings that can do just about everything. The NBA has quickly become a league driven on versatile players that can fulfill multiple roles. Ziaire Williams is another one of those builds.

Williams has good size, standing at 6’8″ and ranking towards the top of the draft in athleticism. While he’s a bit skinny, he plays with aggression and seeks contact on both ends of the floor. His strengths show as a defender while he has the potential to develop into a lethal scorer.

A freshman at Stanford, Williams is averaging 10.7 points per game on underwhelming shooting. However, he shoots nearly 80 percent from the free throw line, an encouraging indicator that he has promise as a shooter.

Williams can fill in as a sound defender off the bench with a high ceiling to grow into an offensive threat. He’s more of a work in progress than other prospects but he’s certainly one to consider if the Warriors land a top-five pick.
