4 dark horse trade targets for the Golden State Warriors
Evan Fournier
While Kelly Oubre Jr. and Andrew Wiggins have had brief stretches in which they’ve dominated, it may be tough for Steve Kerr to trust them in the postseason. That’s where Evan Fournier may come into play.
Fournier is a solid option who is playing with the Orlando Magic. Orlando should start their rebuilding process but, given the excellence of Nikola Vucevic, will likely look to contend instead of regress and wait for Jonathan Issac to get healthy.
If they do choose to part ways with players near the deadline, Fournier will be a target for many teams.
He can score, and he can do it at a high level. He’s averaging a career-high 18.5 points per game. Add in 2.5 triples per game on 37 percent from deep, and it’s clear that the veteran shooting guard is playing at a high level.
With one year left on his contract, the Warriors could deal Wiggins and then have that cap space open up when Fournier doesn’t re-sign. That said, it’s unlikely, but it could be a dark-horse option for Golden State.
