3 trades the Golden State Warriors need to consider prior to deadline
JJ Redick joins Golden State
This trade is for the Golden State Warriors to do before the trade deadline and to use to secure another player. If the team can add a first-round pick and a veteran sharpshooter, it feels like a win-win deal.
New Orleans should have faith that next season that first-round pick will have little value with Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram gaining traction of all-out superstars, and they could expose a long-term part of their franchise in Oubre Jr. to the organization before free agency as well.
Oubre Jr. would also add a nice dimension to their offense.
For Golden State, they could go and flip the pick along with Wiggins for a big-time player like Karl-Anthony Towns. While it feels unlikely that he’d be traded, it’s that type of superstar talent the Warriors could bring in for two or three first-round picks.
Redick is an expensive piece and isn’t having a great season. While the defensive side would struggle with his addition, the spacing would improve. This is a bad trade for Golden State if they can’t flip that pick for another top-tier asset.
If Myers wants to be aggressive, this could be a trade that leads to another deal for Golden State.
