No. 2

The Warriors should look to get Oladipo without giving up too much young talent.

Poole has cemented himself as a long-term piece of this team. Oubre Jr., given his contract, likely won’t be. Neither is Oladipo. This trade would just give the Warriors a quick boost for this season. This trade makes the most sense for both parties.

For the Warriors, while Oubre Jr. has played well, he isn’t at the level of Oladipo.

Oladipo, while he hasn’t played a ton for Houston, is averaging over 20 points per game this season, the second time in his career he’s eclipsed that mark. He’s also averaging 5.0 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game, so that would add nicely to Golden State’s style of play.

With Thompson sidelined and Oubre Jr. inconsistently, the Warriors, behind a lineup of Curry, Oladipo, Wiggins, Green, and Wiseman, could make noise in the West. As Oladipo turned down an extension, it’s clear his time in Houston may be limited.

They should know that as well which could lead him to being discounted on the market, and then this deal could easily get done.
