He’s another trade, our last, that could make sense.

Oladipo and Justin Patton would give the Warriors a consistent scorer and a nice piece to play in the frontcourt. In this trade, the Warriors send away Andrew Wiggins, a name we haven’t mentioned much.

The best part of this for Golden State is getting off Wiggins’ contract. While they could lose Oladipo and Oubre Jr. in free agency, they’d at least have some cap space that they could do what they wanted with.

As we noted in the opening slide, the Warriors have a depth issue in their frontcourt. That’s where the addition of Patton could come in handy. While he doesn’t have a very dominant skillset, he stands a big and lengthy 6-foot-11.

The Warriors fill a couple of needs and set themselves up well for the future. While the first-round pick may be tough to part ways with, it would make sense to bring in the pick and a player that’s a proven scorer like Wiggins if you’re Houston.
