Andrew Wiggins

Andrew Wiggins could be another name that is called on at the 2021 NBA Trade Deadline. The problem is that trading Wiggins for Gordon doesn’t necessarily make the Warriors that much better of a team.

Wiggins has played well for Golden State, and while Gordon may be an upgrade as far as a player and Wiggins may be forced into a deal to make the salaries fit, it doesn’t ruly improve the team to become a championship-caliber one.

This season, Wiggins is averaging 17.8 points per game which is actually below his 19.5 per game average. However, Wiggins is shooting 47 percent from the field and 38 percent from deep, both the highest of his career.

He’s showing that he can play well in the right culture, and if he can continue that trend, teams may finally start to change the perception that has followed him for most of his career.

That should also make it relatively easy to unload his contract, and Orlando may be the perfect place. Trading Wiggins for Gordon would free up some cap space as well. If Myers feels he’s an upgrade, it’d be a win-win deal for both franchises.
