Kevon Looney

Kevon Looney is one of the only players on the Warriors roster making above a minimum-value salary.

With Draymond Green, Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green all on max-value deals, the Warriors awarding Looney a deal following the 2019 postseason that is above the minimum value does show how much they truly value his presence.

Looney was a terrific defender and rebounder in their Finals-making 2019 run.

Since then, he’s been injury prone and really hasn’t found his rhythm. A former first-round pick, Looney has strung together a few weeks of being active and healthy. That said, he’s averaging 4.0 points and 4.1 rebounds per game this season.

Looney would more or less be a salary cap casualty at the deadline if he’s dealt. His value for other teams isn’t quite there, but he does make enough to help even out a trade since the Warriors are so pressed against the cap.
