The Golden State Warriors made just two trades prior to the March 25 deadline. Well, they were pretty underwhelming deals for what many thought the team was looking to do with players on expiring contracts.

On top of that, it wasn’t overly confirmed if general manager Bob Myers was going to bring in a player like Victor Oladipo to give Stephen Curry some more star power in order to push for a postseason run.

The Golden State Warriors dealt Brad Wanamaker and Marquese Chriss prior to the NBA Trade Deadline. Here are three reasons to love the Dubs deadline deals.

Wanamaker was sent to Charlotte. The Hornets just got the news that LaMelo Ball will likely miss the rest of the season. Ball’s absence forced the Hornets to go and get a backup point guard. Wanamaker fit the mold.

As for Chriss, he’ll be out the remainder of the season with a broken leg. Sending him to San Antonio will free up a roster spot for the Dubs. That trade didn’t make quite as much sense, but it will allow Golden State to add a player that can at least play.

The Dubs didn’t deal Kelly Oubre Jr., and there really wasn’t much movement from Golden State. But, there’s still reason to be optimistic about their deadline deals. That said, let’s dive into three reasons why you should love what Golden State did.
