The buyout market is open and the Golden State Warriors better get active if they want to take full advantage of the roster spots they opened up.

Golden State didn’t make too many moves at the trade deadline. However, the two trades they did pull the trigger on were done with one objective: clear a path to signing talent on the waiver wire. In this case, there are some good options for the Dubs to consider.

Here are three potential buyout candidates the Golden State Warriors should be setting their sights on before the deadline.

The NBA has gone through some drastic changes over the years. One of the most obvious is the increase in player empowerment that has seen a number of veteran players negotiate buyout agreements to leave their team in favor of a new opportunity.

This isn’t anything new, but it is a trend that has become more common in recent years. We’ve already seen Blake Griffin, LaMarcus Aldridge and Andre Drummond move from bottom-dweller teams to title contenders this season alone.

As for the Dubs, they won’t be looking to add the missing piece to a playoff run. Yet, striking gold on an available asset could help them bolster their rotation for the future when Klay Thompson is back and a championship is back in their sights.
