Reason the Warriors aren’t a true contender: Consistency

The Golden State Warriors haven’t gotten much consistency from players this season. It’s been both injuries and just a lack of skill.

Also, Stephen Curry having missed several games in the last few weeks will throw off a team’s rhythm. The Warriors play around Curry so much offensively that they’ve looked lost without him, which is why they were absolutely steamrolled by the Raptors.

It’s been the lack of star Klay Thompson that’s really hurt this team. Thompson had been to five straight All-Star appearances and had notched over 20 points per game throughout that stretch before two straight season-ending injuries.

Replacing that type of player with Oubre Jr. just isn’t ideal, but Bob Myers and company did what they thought would keep this team in contention. Sadly, it just hasn’t been what the front office expected him to be.

The consistency from the Warriors just hasn’t been there, one reason they can’t string together any type of winning streak. However, to stay in that 10th place in the West, they’ll need to figure it out soon.
