3 Reasons Golden State Warriors are severely short-staffed

Golden State Warriors made zero meaningful moves
For a team that is gearing up for the NBA Playoffs, the Golden State Warriors sure did an underwhelming job at fleshing out their roster before entering the final stretch of the season.
The Warriors didn’t have to swing big and trade for another star at the deadline. They didn’t even necessarily need to pick up any major names such as Andre Drummond or Blake Griffin on the buyout market.
However, it’s incredibly disappointing that the front office failed to add any significant talent to the roster prior to the deadline. Signing Gary Payton II was interesting and all.. but that was it? Players such as Jeff Teague, Austin Rivers, Gorgui Dieng and Ben McLemore were all available. The Dubs acquired none of them.
The Warriors knew they were undersized with a thin frontcourt rotation. It was evident they lacked playmaking outside of Stephen Curry and needed a backup point guard. And yet, the front office showed no urgency in bolstering the bench unit.
This lack of depth is going to haunt the Warriors once they enter the playoffs. While yes, postseason rotations are typically shortened anyways — the Dubs have been exhausting their core players all season long.
The margin for error was already small for Golden State but life will be even more difficult due to the front office’s failure at the deadline.
