Golden State Warriors are finally playing with cohesion

When looking at their injury report, you would not expect the Golden State Warriors to finally be playing with cohesion the way they have been. Players such as Kelly Oubre, Damion Lee, Eric Paschall and James Wiseman are sidelined, yet the team is looking more complete than ever.

Steve Kerr and the coaching staff have remained committed to pushing their patterned motion offense all season long. While this led to some unnecessary losses early on — their stubbornness is paying off now that the supporting cast is finding their groove.

The Warriors rank top-10 in points per game, field goal percentage, 3-point percentage, assists, plus/minus, defensive rating and net rating in their last 10 games. They also place first in 3-pointers made with 17.1 per game.

This is because the entire team learning how to play together. They are dishing nearly 30 assists per game as everyone develops a deeper understanding of their role offensively. Draymond Green himself is averaging double-digit assists since April.

Other names like Jordan Poole, Juan Toscano-Anderson and Kent Bazemore have made all the difference. Poole, in particular, is growing more confident in his abilities by the night as he’s averaging 13.6 points over his last 12 games.

Meanwhile, Bazemore and JTA have been huge positives for the Dubs in their spurts of playing time. JTA has laid his body on the line for extra possessions and is steadily spacing the floor at a near 40 percent 3-point clip. The same goes for Bazemore.

But, the man standing above everyone else in the supporting cast is Andrew Wiggins. He has played every single game this season, offering effort on both ends of the floor that has been crucial to the Dubs’ success.

This late-season surge of chemistry has raised their ceiling quite a bit. I suspect the Warriors will only grow stronger with the return of Oubre, Paschall and Lee.
