Golden State Warriors go all-in on star power

Now we are finally talking about some deals that can move the needle for Golden State. This trade for Zach LaVine overloads them with offense and gives them a fighting chance at capitalizing on their championship window.

LaVine is a lethal scorer. He posted close to 30 points per game last season and was an absolute flame thrower from all areas of the floor. Standing at 6’6″, he’s tall enough to fill in at the small forward position and give the Dubs a three-guard lineup filled with scoring and playmaking.

Obvious issues emerge when considering defense. Losing Andrew Wiggins would hurt but the return of Klay Thompson is a fairly good trade-off. And, if James Wiseman blossoms into an elite rim protector, the five-man lineup of Stephen Curry, Thompson, LaVine, Draymond Green and Wiseman is a damn good one.

Lastly, there’s a slither of hope that Oubre will return to the team. In that case, the Warriors would be in perfect shape to bring in an offensive talent like LaVine and go all-in on winning a title with their offense.
