Christian Wood is perfect for Golden State Warriors

There is not a better fit for the Golden State Warriors than Christian Wood. An athletic floor-spacer who is young enough to fit the current championship window and keep the Dubs competitive for a few extra years — what is there not to love about Wood?

Wood broke out in 2019 with the Detroit Pistons as a surprising two-way threat. Since then, he has been an offensive force in Houston and is averaging 22.5 points and 11.5 rebounds to start the current season.

What’s more, he has shot 37.5 percent from the 3-point line for his career. This is a huge benefit for the Warriors who need all of the spacing they can get in the frontcourt.

It might be smart for the Warriors to punt on a risky talent like James Wiseman and opt for an instant contributor in Wood. It would not take much more than Wiseman and another salary filler (plus maybe a pick) to pry Wood from the rebuilding Rockets. And, it just might push the Warriors deeper into title contention.
