Moses Moody is trending DOWN

It is okay to admit when you are wrong. I’ll come out and say it, Moses Moody was not as NBA ready as I thought he would be.

This does not mean Moody won’t have a long, successful professional career — but he is not going to be the instant impact player I optimistically projected him to be.

Moody’s greatest strength, the thing that should have made him a useful asset all season long, is his 3-point shooting. Moody excels at moving off-ball and finding open shots for himself. This has remained true at the NBA level.

The problem is… Moody can’t buy a bucket at this point. He is just 4-of-27 from deep to start his rookie season — making him the fourth-worst shooter of nearly 400 players to attempt 25+ total 3-pointers this year.

We are far from pressing the panic button, however. Remember Jordan Poole’s similarly abysmal rookie stint?

The second half of the season should see Moody playing extended minutes in the G-League. Rebuilding his confidence and prepping him for a more lucrative sophomore season is the goal.
