Golden State Warriors spare Jonathan Kuminga and Draymond Green

The Golden State Warriors can not avoid losing a chunk of their young core in a hypothetical trade for Kevin Durant.

But they can ensure their most promising prospect, Jonathan Kuminga, remains in the Bay.

By including Andrew Wiggins, Moses Moody, James Wiseman and however many future draft picks it takes to get the job done — Golden State can welcome Durant back to the dynasty.

Who is the winner here?

I guess the Warriors, as Durant is an obvious short-term upgrade to Wiggins, even with how great he has become.

I’m not sure what else makes this trade worth it for the Dubs. Sure, they maximize their chance of winning another title next season but their window shrinks substantially. So while this deal has the benefit of holding onto Kuminga — there isn’t much else to get excited for from a Golden State perspective.

Verdict: Still not worth it
