Warriors’ James Wiseman to New Orleans Pelicans

The Golden State Warriors may opt to take a different route in planning for the future. They obviously have a score-first guard in Jordan Poole. However, what they may lack is defense, especially from Wiseman.

Herb Jones, who proved to be one of the most gifted young defenders in the league, could be a quick, long-term fix. They would have the point through four locked up for the next several seasons.

At the same time, looking to trade picks and poach Ingram also makes sense but only if New Orleans views Wiseman as a quality option to pair with CJ McCollum and Zion Williamson. Williamson is clearly their future as he inked a long-term, max-contract deal this offseason.

It’s a risk for New Orleans as meshing their lineup may be easier said than done, but the Wiseman-Wiggins-Moody trio should have more long-term potential than Jones and Ingram.

Ingram would give a Durant-like situation to the Warriors without the price tag and multiple first-round picks. He would elevate the Warriors’ potential offensively and Jones would help their already-dominant defense.
