Donovan Mitchell

Verdict: Expected

Donovan Mitchell being traded by the end of this season would be the least surprising thing to happen in the NBA.

Everything points toward Mitchell leaving the Jazz. He doesn’t appear too dedicated to being in Utah long-term and with the Jazz taking the first step toward blowing it up by trading Rudy Gobert — it’s safe to assume Mitchell is next to go.

Where will he land?

The New York Knicks seem like the favorites to acquire Mitchell as trade talks continue to occur.

Could anything keep Mitchell in Utah? Sure. He’s signed a max extension with the Jazz that will keep him in the city until at least 2025 when he could sign an even more lucrative deal with the team that drafted him.

While the extra money is usually enough to convince anyone to stick around — Mitchell is still the most likely star to be traded this season.
