Golden State Warriors potential free-agent target: Reggie Jackson

Reggie Jackson should’ve been on the Warriors radar last offseason, but they opted to add Wanamaker. Jackson has everything a team wants in a backup point guard and has even proven to be a consistent threat when starting.

Jackson has spent the last season and a half with the Clippers, and it’s likely he re-signs there this offseason. Jackson made his name in Detroit, but since transitioning to Los Angeles, he’s changed his style and become a much better 3-and-D option.

Knowing the team has Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, Jackson is more of a spot-up option now, and he’s thriving in that role, hitting over 43 percent of his shots from deep. Making 1.8 threes per game, Jackson is knocking down jumpers at an elite level.

The 6-foot-2, 31-year-old Jackson is making just $2.3 million. The Warriors can match that and offer him a spot on a team that will contend for a title at full strength. Jackson is a player the Warriors need to make a run after.

The backup point guard is crucial, and the Warriors could add any of these three to help stabilize what’s historically been a lacking second unit.
