After recently signing a $56 million deal with the Detroit Pistons, Josh Smith and general manager Joe Dumars look to create the most potent frontcourts in the Eastern Conference. Between Smith, Andre Drummond and Greg Monroe, the Pistons could be the team to challenge for the East title in the future.

Smith has always been a polarizing figure. Grantland’s Bill Simmons describes Smith and Russell Westbrook the same way. They are both 90 percent/10 percent players–90 percent of their game is effective and works very well, but the 10 percent that they do poorly stands out so much so that it effects how critics look at the whole picture. If Smith would cut the bad jump shots out of his game he could easily jump into being one of the top five power forwards.
