7. Malcolm Thomas

During the Golden State Warriors’ search for big men that turned into a revolving door, Malcolm Thomas was another young dart thrown at the dart board. During the 2012-13 season, Golden State brought him up to see what he could do.

His 10-day contract didn’t see much from him and he was sent back to the D-League. That was the extent of his time with Golden State before getting some more opportunities elsewhere in the league.

Like most of the players on this list, Thomas would end up overseas and giving it a go there. And just like most of these players, he found much more success and a chance to really shine and grow his game.

It’s a reminder that sometimes the best way for a player to grow their game is to go around the world and learn new things. Thomas hasn’t been in the league since the 2014-15 season, but never count out a return.
