Re-signing JaVale McGee

For weeks, it looked like the Golden State Warriors weren’t going to be able to re-sign JaVale McGee. He was, reportedly, unhappy with the Dubs. The reserve center was disappointed that he wasn’t offered more money and an opportunity to start.

It’s quick a divisive subject amongst Warriors fans though the Dubs won a championship with Zaza Pachulia starting. McGee’s energy was an important part of Golden State’s bench attack. He added a new element to the Warriors’ offensive game, giving them a rim-runner that could finish off alley-oops that excited his teammates and the fans.

Golden State acted quickly to fill out their roster. They brought back many of their core members and added a few new faces. Still, McGee’s fate hung in the balance.

The Warriors found a way to come to an agreement with the center. McGee will be returning on a one year deal, making the veteran’s minimum. It’s another great move by Bob Myers.

McGee is clearly happy to be back in the Bay Area. He posted that video above shortly after the news broke. That looks like a man who is having the time of his life playing with great players and winning championships

Warriors fans are definitely happy to have him back. This was, easily, the best news all week.
