1. Stephen Curry is an NBA Globetrotter

Just the other day, I was watching the the Harlem Globetrotters on Good Morning America as they attempted to break the halfcourt shot record live from New York’s Times Square. The Globetrotters were coming to play at Kaiser Permanente Arena — home of Golden State’s G League affiliate Santa Cruz Warriors — on Nov. 2, so I was just doing my obligatory research.

And that’s when it hit me: Stephen Curry is basically a Harlem Globetrotter in the NBA.

Curry is the only player in the NBA pulling up from half court. No other player has hit more threes in a season than he has, and he’s done so for the past five seasons. He’ll dribble between his legs and go behind his back twice to avoid a quadruple team, then step back into a fadeaway three to take the lead.

Then he’ll go back at you on the next possession, throw up a shot and turn towards the opposing bench knowing that it’s going in. He’ll shimmy down the court, hype up the crowd and high five the fans on the sideline.
