Golden State Warriors: Grading each player in the first round
Kevon Looney: D
Kevon Looney had his ups and downs this series. It took a while for him to finally develop a comfortable rhythm, proving to be quite the asset in Game 3 with a +17 performance.
Unfortunately, he went right back to struggling in Game 4, ending the series quietly.
In five appearances, Looney averaged 4.4 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 20.0 minutes per game. He shot 42.8 percent from the field and 57.1 percent from the free throw line.
The thing I love about Looney is he just happens to be in the right place at the right time. He’s never one to consistently make the big play, but when he does make a play, it usually pays huge dividends.
Whether it’s his luck, his instincts or maybe a little bit of both, Looney always seems to make some sort of difference at one point in the game. His inexperience showed a couple times throughout the series, however, which earns him this “D” grade.
