1. Steph might not have to come back

Did the Golden State Warriors possibly jump the gun by revealing to the world that Stephen Curry could possibly come back to play in Game 2 of the second round? Judging based on what we saw from the Pelicans on Saturday: yes, they were probably a bit too hasty with their grand unveiling.

We all assumed that after watching the Pelicans sweep Portland, the Warriors were in far greater trouble in the second round than they were at any point in the first. Turns out we were all wrong: the Pelicans don’t look all too tough, the Warriors have another Steph-less level that we didn’t see them rise to against the Spurs, and the Blazers were much, much worse than we thought.

So as much as the basketball world would love to see Curry back on the hardwood, the fact of the matter is the Warriors may still be able to hold out without him, prolonging his opportunity for rest and proper preparation.

Could the Warriors finish the series much faster with Curry’s assistance? Probably. But seeing as this round is already shaping out to be much more entertaining and fast-paced than the last round, the Warriors would do well to ensure Curry gets back to 100 percent before sending him back out there.

See you in the Finals, Steph.
