Golden State Warriors: 3 impactful free agents the Dubs should sign
Bring in veteran Corey Brewer
Corey Brewer would be an excellent addition for the Golden State Warriors.
Playing in 18 games and starting 16 for the Thunder last season along with a short stint with the Lakers, Brewer has been on his fair share of teams over the last decade. He’s been on six teams over his eleven professional seasons. It’s only fitting that Brewer finds a more permanent home.
That home could be in the Bay, as a permanent second unit threat for one of the league’s greatest dynasties.
Brewer would add a nice defender and rebounder with his 6-foot-9 frame. A similar game to that of Andre Iguodala, Brewer could be used in small-ball lineups and as insurance in case Iguodala goes down for an extended period of time like he did in the postseason.
Not a great three-point shooter, Brewer was a capable threat from deep last season in Oklahoma City. He averaged 1.3 per game on 34.3% from downtown. It’s not horrific, so barring any surprise additions, Brewer might be one of the better options for Golden State off the bench.
Mostly used as a shooting guard, Brewer would be able to play alongside Jacob Evans and Quinn Cook. Joining a younger second unit, Brewer’s consistency would be craved on a team that’s looking to bring youth to their next generation.
