Latrell Sprewell was quite the talented player in his time with Golden State, while it lasted. He was originally drafted by the Warriors as the 24th pick in the 1992 NBA Draft. He hit the league with a vengeance, producing 15.4 points, 3.8 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game as a rookie.

In the 1993-94 season, he was awarded first team All-NBA honors, as well second team All-Defensive honors after averaging 21.0 points, 4.9 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 2.2 steals per contest. In just his second season in the league, he eclipsed over 100 3-point field goals, making 141 3-pointers and shooting 36.1 percent from 3-point range.

Sprewell’s career hit a snag during the 1997-98 season when he attacked head coach P.J. Carlesimo during a team practice. His production was down as was the team.

The Warriors were off to a 1-13 record and things didn’t look good at all for them, especially after the altercation. Just 14 games into the season, Sprewell was suspended for the rest of the regular season.

The Warriors ended up trading Sprewell away in January 1999 to the Minnesota Timberwolves. When it was all said and done, Sprewell finished ranked sixth in franchise history in 3-pointers made (551) and shot 33.2 percent from behind the arc during his tenure.

He also made three All-Star appearances with Golden State, but his relationship with the head coach spoiled any potential future he would have with the team.
