Golden State Warriors: Ranking the team’s top 25 options in free agency
Seth Curry
Might as well save Dell and Sonya Curry the extra flights. Let’s bring both their kids to the Bay Area. Steph is already locked up for the next few seasons, and Seth, if he wants it, would be a welcome addition.
Curry is coming off one of his best professional seasons. Helping lead the Blazers to the Western Conference Finals, Curry was shied away behind Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum. He quietly helped lead an effective bench unit.
Averaging 7.9 points and just 0.8 turnovers per game, the most notable attribute of Curry’s game is his three-point shooting. He nailed 45% of his threes this past season, one of the highest rates in the entire NBA.
The Blazers were 3.3 per 100 possessions better with Curry on the court. Although most of his numbers dropped in the postseason, so did his opportunities with Lillard’s minutes being maxed. Having yet to sign a sizable contract, Curry would likely be looking the minimum in Golden State.
He’s not quite an MLE-caliber player, and he’d be a last resort for the MLE. However, he’d be a prized contract if he came on the min.
