The Kyrie influence

It’s no secret that Kyrie Irving is on his way out of Boston. A disastrous season quickly changed Irving’s idea of the future as the Celtics fan base has all but exiled him from their team. Irving will almost certainly be joining a new team this summer, but will he bring Kevin Durant with him.

Irving and Durant have been friends for some time now. The two frequently talk and have met a few times recently. First, when Durant was recovering from his initial injury against the Houston Rockets and once again now that KD is in New York recovering from his Achilles rupture.

Rumor has it that Irving has his eyes on the Brooklyn Nets. Of course, Irving would love to bring some extra talent with him. There is nothing official, but it seems like Kyrie has been attempting to recruit Durant to join him wherever he ends up.

While we don’t know the extent of this situation, it is important to note that Irving’s plans in free agency could directly impact Durant’s final decision.
