Trevor Ariza — Update: Is expected to sign with Kings

Forward Trevor Ariza went from competing in Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals against Golden State to being on two of the league’s worst teams last year. While he’d be a phenomenal addition, it’s clear Ariza is about his money.

Golden State will not be the best offer he gets. Ariza made $15 million last season and that offer drew him away from Houston. A solid three-pointer shooter and above-average defender with quintessential length, there’s really no telling where Ariza signs.

Ariza ended last season on the Wizards and averaged 2.2 threes per game. However, he shot just 32.2% from deep. He’s got the touch, but his inefficiency hurts his case for a high-value contract at 34.

Ariza is hardly worth the Warriors MLE. On the open market, he’ll likely get far more by some team though. *Paging Phoenix or Atlanta*
