2019 NBA Free Agency Tracker: Ranking the Golden State Warriors top 30 options
Thaddeus Young — Update: Has signed with Chicago Bulls
One of the most underrated free agents in this class is Thaddeus Young.
Young is an efficient scorer and a capable defender. Just about every team could use Young, but what team will pay for him? Last season, Young’s 12th in the league, he averaged 12.6 points on 52.7% shooting.
On the offensive end, he knows how to get easy buckets, and on the defensive end, he’s just an smart. A high-IQ player, Young finished last season with 1.5 steals per game, stepping up as a key leader during Oladipo’s absence.
Young won’t instantly make your team a contender, but for Golden State, he could be an ideal addition. Size, speed, length and IQ all make Young a player the Warriors should offer an eight-figure contract if Durant doesn’t return.
At the MLE, Young would be a steal. The price range for Young is up in the air. Not quite a must-have player, Young should get a solid amount of offers and may just take the best available.
