Stephen Curry

He knows it, Steve Kerr knows it, and the Golden State Warriors dedicated fanbase knows that Stephen Curry must be better. However, the two-time MVP did end with a team-high 23 points and a pair of threes.

But, what everyone will take away from Curry’s performance is his eight turnovers. When aggressive, Curry, more often than not, made the wrong decision, something fans aren’t used to. Kerr also, in the postgame press conference, noted that many of Curry’s turnovers were careless.

But, this is also Curry’s first season in almost a decade without Thompson on the court for an extended period so it’ll take some adjusting. There’s not much worry surrounding his play after taking one of the league’s best defenders.

His numbers are quite eye-popping though. For a player that started last season in the 50/50/90 club, a trio of percentages no qualified NBA player has maintained throughout a season, Curry was brutally inefficient in the opener.

He ended the game 8-for-20 from the field and 2-for-11 from downtown. He’ll clean those up though as they take on the Thunder this coming Sunday.
