Lack of cap space this offseason

Cousins’ past success indicates he knows how to play through following an injury, the team will have big man issues, and thirdly, the Warriors should target Cousins because they’ll be limited in their options this offseason.

The Warriors will have four max players and a top-five pick heading into the 2020-2021 season. That will limit their options.

While they do have a few trade exceptions to mess around with, Cousins should be looking at a veteran’s minimum contract this offseason, and he might as well go to an organization that he trusts.

He knows Green, Curry and Thompson and the spirit in which they play. Having only one discouraging postseason run to his name, Cousins should also know that he’ll get a chance at the limelight in Golden State. He should take that if offered to him.
