Lou Williams

Lou Williams has not played well. As I’m writing this, Williams has played nine games for Los Angeles. In his fourth season with the team, Williams has seen his role relegated and his minutes decline heavily.

Williams’ contract would be under the DPE, and he could give the Warriors a proven scorer. It may be difficult to trust Eric Paschall and Kelly Oubre Jr. in important games.

Williams has been there, and he’s been struggling. Isn’t the motto in the stock market sell high, buy low? This is a buy-low for Golden State as Williams is averaging only 9.2 points per game, almost half of what he was at a season ago.

Combine his lack of scoring with his age and his role on the loaded Clippers roster, and he’s a player that at the very least would be worth targeting. Last season, Williams topped 18 points per game.

With scoring being his only real contribution, playing Williams and Curry together could be problematic, but as a pure bench option, he’d be terrific.
