Ed Davis

A former first-round pick as well, Ed Davis is currently on the Minnesota Timberwolves. Having lost Karl Anthony-Towns for a stretch of the season, the Wolves are among the worst teams in the West, and it’s not looking pretty.

Ed Davis isn’t an ideal addition, but he’d provide the Warriors with size and energy. The big man is averaging just 1.2 points and 5.5 rebounds per game off the Minnesota bench. The worst part about Davis’ play so far has been his efficiency.

Two seasons ago he was shooting over 60 percent from the field, and he’s now under 40 percent. Davis must be better as an efficient scorer to find a new home, but given the Wolves predicament and that Davis is 31, it would make all the sense in the worst to buy him out.

Davis, for the Warriors, is likely just a security blanket. While Baynes offers something different with his shooting, Davis is just a rebounding machine. The team would likely prefer Kevon Looney in that situation.
