Golden State Warriors positives: Andrew Wiggins becoming a two-way threat

We all had hope that Andrew Wiggins would thrive in his role with the Golden State Warriors and live up to the lofty expectations he has had to carry since he was a superstar in high school. And, it looks like he might be fulfilling the prophecy after all.

Wiggins isn’t going to lead a team to a championship. But, he can be an extremely capable two-way-threat on a title contender. Wiggins is playing phenomenal defense and really starting to unlock his full potential as a shot creator.

Against the Lakers, Wiggins took on the challenge of defending LeBron James and held him to just 6-of-16 shooting. On the season, Wiggins is averaging a career-high in blocks at 1.6 and is locking up on the perimeter due to his long arms and quick feet.

He still has to prove that he can play at this level for an extended period of time. With Draymond Green there to motivate him at all times, I think we can rest assured Wiggins will continue taking leaps as a defender.
