Trade for a superstar

The Golden State Warriors have the assets to trade for a superstar. Now, the question of if they will or not is up in the air.

Considering that they’d have to trade either a member of the Big 3 or Andrew Wiggins, who is playing solid basketball right now, it feels more unlikely. But, if they truly want to contend, they may need to go out and get a player like Bradley Beal.

Beal would help not only with the short-term situation that Golden State finds itself in, but he’d be a long-term solution as well as he’s only 27 while the remainder of the Big 3 are all in their 30s. Beal was a top-five pick in the 2012 NBA Draft.

While there are other superstars that the Warriors may be able to go out and acquire, none would be the caliber of player that Beal is. He’s averaging a league-high 34.9 points per game and is playing on the 3-8 Wizards, a team suited to trade their star.

The Warriors, with the Minnesota top-3 protected first-round pick in 2021, have the assets to bring in a player like Beal, but it’s tough to see them doing so with that draft class absolutely loaded with star potential.
