Golden State Warriors’ targets: George Hill

There’s no way around it. If the Golden State Warriors want to win a championship or even compete next season, they need to address their issues in the backcourt. Specifically, their second unit.

While some fans are calling for Jordan Poole to receive more minutes, the Dubs would be better suited to signing a battle-tested vet like George Hill. This isn’t to say Poole doesn’t have potential, but if it’s between trusting an unproven prospect or a reliable guard like Hill – I’m choosing the latter.

Hill has roughly a decade of NBA basketball on his resume and has embraced his role on every team he’s played for. He can provide quality minutes with the second unit, acting as an all-around threat to defend, create plays and knock down open shots.

Hill is posting 11.8 points and 3.1 assists in OKC and is likely craving for a chance to be on a contender again. He should be open to a lesser contract if it means taking one more swing for a championship, something the Warriors can offer.
