Golden State Warriors’ targets: Blake Griffin

It has been a long time since Blake Griffin was rising above the rim and embarrassing opponents with posterizing slams in Los Angeles. His career has taken an unfortunate turn ever since arriving in Detroit – but there’s still hope for the former star to chase a title.

One thing we have to address right away is the reality that Griffin likely isn’t playing his most inspired ball. There isn’t much reason for him to be fired up each night playing with the Pistons and there could be an entire second gear waiting to be unlocked in Griffin.

We won’t see him revitalize his insane athleticism but the rest of his game has developed nicely. He’s become a creative ball-handler who can create for others and if you would have shown me clips of him hitting pull-up 3-pointers back in 2012 I probably would have fainted.

Griffin isn’t the most accurate shooter, he only hits 31.5 percent of his six attempts per game. Yet, he’s an interesting talent to consider placing stock into. He’s 31-years old and has lost much of his explosiveness but there’s a possibility Griffin has more to offer.

If he’s open to taking on a smaller role on the bench and making less money, Griffin could join the Warriors with ease. He’d be their most talented all-around threat in the second unit and potentially revive his career with the Dubs.
