Golden State Warriors NBA Draft: Jalen Suggs
The Golden State Warriors have a gap in their lineup. While they will put out one of the best backcourts in the NBA with Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson next year, their supporting cast is lacking.
As of now, Brad Wanamaker is their only backup point guard while Jordan Poole and Kent Bazemore act as backup wings. We’d assume either Andrew Wiggins or Kelly Oubre will move to the bench next season as well. This means the Dubs need to do something to address their lack of playmaking in the second unit – and Jalen Suggs can provide that fix.
Suggs is a true point guard with size and athleticism. He’s bulky enough to power through opponents and has enough shooting touch to space the floor. Suggs is averaging 13.9 points and 4.5 assists, drawing comparisons to NBA Champion Chauncy Billups.
As a well-rounded defender, Suggs fits in perfectly with the Dubs. His game allows plenty of room to grow as a scorer and passer but there’s no reason to think he can’t achieve greatness in Golden State.
