Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. G-League Ignite. 2. player. G. Jalen Green. 169

Houston Rockets

For months, Evan Mobley seemed like the obvious No. 2 this year. However, in this scenario, Jalen Green makes way more sense for the Houston Rockets. Not to mention, Green is blazing his trail to becoming the consensus No. 2 prospect.

It’s hard to argue against Green’s potential. A solid 6’5″ guard with long arms and elite athleticism, Green is the ideal replacement for James Harden in Houston. While those are big shoes to fill, his shot creation is already raising eyebrows in the G-League.

Green is averaging 17.9 points and scoring in a multitude of ways. His shooting splits aren’t very efficient but he is flashing a great ability to get to his spots and shoot over the top of defenders. Combine his smooth jump shot with a lethal, shifty handle and it’s easy to see why he’s such an exciting prospect.

Explosive is the only way to describe Green. Slotting him into the Rockets lineup with players like Christian Wood and Kevin Porter Jr. is a sure-fire way to jumpstart Houston’s rebuild.
