Golden State Warriors can trade NBA Draft Lottery picks

Just as Andrew Wiggins will be included in most potential deals, both of the Golden State Warriors’ upcoming lottery picks will be in rumors up until NBA Draft night. It only makes sense. Every major trade of the last few decades has involved NBA Draft picks.

While yes, there certainly is an argument to be made for Golden State to keep these picks, it also makes sense for the franchise to make a trade. It’s possible they draft a star with one of these selections, but it’s also possible they whiff.

Prospects like Franz Wagner, Jalen Johnson, Scottie Barnes, Davion Mitchell and Moses Moody all pose interesting dynamics for the Dubs. However, these young players don’t exactly fit their current timeline.

Ultimately, it is safer for the Warriors to trade these picks for a proven player. This means veteran players and stars will be their ideal targets in any swap involving draft picks. Game-changing names such as Zach LaVine, Bradley Beal, Ben Simmons and Domantas Sabonis will all be considered.
