Warriors potentially regretful move: Drafting Jonathan Kuminga

The Golden State Warriors thought they hit a home run by drafting Jonathan Kumina. For the value and where the pick was, they most certainly did.

At No. 7, there weren’t many other options, especially for a player that could have a superstar ceiling. Now, the problem with Kuminga is the floor for a player of his caliber is also very low. He may never be able to develop into a consistent threat.

Can his decision-making improve? Can he shoot capably from deep? There are a handful of questions the rookie must answer, and on top of all that, he’ll only have a few seasons to make his presence felt.

It seems players are given up on after a rough start in the league, and although his Las Vegas Summer League showing gave fans high hopes, there’s no denying that Kuminga may struggle heavily with his efficiency.

After missing on LaMelo Ball for James Wiseman last season, the Warriors could use Kuminga panning out into the star he could be. Until he shows that upside on the court, this could be a regrettable selection.
