Golden State Warriors star trade target: Jerami Grant

There are certain players on certain teams that aren’t going to help their team get anywhere this season regardless of how well they play individually.

The Detroit Pistons rank at the bottom of the league in an array of categories, but small forward Jerami Grant, when healthy, has been explosive for the Motor City’s beloved team. He would easily be worth Andrew Wiggins and a handful of picks.

He’s averaging 16.8 points per game. What’s even crazier is he’s doing that while shooting under 40 percent from the field. The amount at which he has to shoot as the best playmaker for Detroit is astronomical.

As we saw with Wiggins, when a player gets into the Warriors system, they almost automatically become more efficient. Grant has averaged over 50 percent from the field for an entire season, which he played 81 games in.

Grant, for a team with several young players that may be primed to take the next step in the near future, could be relatively cheap. Wiggins and two first-round picks may be enough to at least start the conversation with James Wiseman potentially being thrown in the mix as well.

Nonetheless, given his athleticism and the playing he’d bring, considering a trade for Grant would be worth it for Golden State.
