3. He adds wing depth

One of Golden State’s immediate needs this offseason is adding depth at the forward position, which alone certainly justifies the Jonas Jerebko signing.

To recap last season, the Warriors had a bit of trouble figuring things out on the wing with guys like Andre Iguodala and Patrick McCaw missing significant time, and the team dug themselves into a deeper hole by letting Omri Casspi go instead of Nick Young.

To make matters worse, they had way too many centers on the roster for their own good, crowding the frontcourt rotation and blocking any chance of adding another wingman before the start of the postseason.

This summer, it’s clear the Dubs are keen on not making the same mistake, which they proved early by drafting 3-and-D prospect Jacob Evans with the 28th pick in the 2018 NBA Draft.

By signing Jerebko, they increase the number of options they can throw out on the wing, further balancing out the roster.
