Popular trade target the Warriors should avoid: Pascal Siakam

Another player the Warriors should consider staying away from is the Toronto Raptors’ Pascal Siakam. Siakam is a solid forward and was an All-Star caliber player a few seasons ago. However, in Toronto, the fit isn’t quite there for him anymore.

I think many are shocked he hasn’t been dealt yet since the Raptors drafted a combo forward with the fourth-overall pick. Scottie Barnes and OG Anunoby are the faces of this franchise, not Pascal although he may currently be the most offensively gifted one.

Siakam has only played in two games this season, scoring 15 points in 25 minutes against the Nets and then 8 points in 30 minutes against the Celtics. 8 points in 30 minutes is not the production that’s expected from a 2019-2020 All-Star.

He has two more years of making over $33 million on his contract. Given that, the Warriors would have to trade Wiggins. Given his play, that seems extremely unlikely. He’s been too important, and for now, a player like Siakam wouldn’t make much sense.

Wiggins has been far better than many expected him to be.
