With free agency set to begin, the rumors are constantly swirling. Some are inaccurate and some are legitimate. There’s no real way to separate them.
The latest rumor regarding the Golden State Warriors involves Carl Landry. Gery Woelfel of the Milwaukee Journal Times reported Sunday that Landry is “definitely interested” in signing with the Bucks, who have tried to acquire him in the past.

Take note that Woelfel reported that Landry is interested in signing with the Bucks. There was nothing specifically mentioned about a mutual interest.
Milwaukee’s current starting frontcourt consists of Ersan Ilyasova and Larry Sanders. Luc Mbah a Moute (projected to be starting small forward) and Ekpe Udoh figure to be the team’s primary reserves in 2013-14. John Henson is also in the mix for minutes up front.
So, Landry’s role on a Bucks team that already has a set frontcourt is a bit foggy. He would be an upgrade over Udoh and Mbah a Moute offensively, but he’d still likely have to accept a role off the bench.
Perhaps the Bucks have a trade in the works to move Ilyasova, which would then move Landry into a bigger role. But with the current depth chart, Landry’s minutes wouldn’t see much of an uptick from 2012-13.
